The Poor Things Hoops
AKA The Bella Baxter Bugs. Whilst on a girlie cinema date with a few witchy pals, I was so enthralled by the costume and set design that I grabbed my sketchbook and started fiercely scribbling… Et Voila.
Parade draws inspiration from the ballet of the same name, by Leonide Massine, Eric Satie, Jean Cocteau and with costumes and set design by Pablo Picasso. Continuing on with my circus themed jewels I looked to Parade for a cubist spin. First performed by the Ballets Russes in Paris in 1917, the production is set at a funfair or fairground and follows the story of a traveling circus troupe.
I invite you to adorn your favourite performer…
